My Day Off
I don’t work anywhere on Tuesdays (which is SO nice!! ) so I usually do laundry and other housewife sorts of things. Today I spent most of my afternoon in the kitchen. I love using Betty Crocker for the simple fact that I can make one dough recipe and turn out 3 different yummy dishes of food! Granted they are all fattening, but isn’t that what I’m supposed to do for my hubby?? ;-) I made Pizza for tonight’s dinner, Cinnamon Rolls for tomorrow’s breakfast and Butterhorns for tomorrow’s dinner. Mom, I know I said that Better Homes cookbook is laid out better, but there are some things in which Betty Crocker can’t be beat! It also helps to have had my Grandmother and mother as the world’s two greatest cooks!!

Weekend with Christy
This past weekend the Lord allowed us to have Christy (my daughter in the Lord) with us. I believe it will be 5 years ago next week that Christy accepted the Lord! Time flies! She will be 16 in Dec.
We picked her up for club on Friday night and were able to have her with us until Sunday after the evening service! It was a blessing to spend time with her, answer her questions, share some Bible study time together, and just have her away from her Godless home environment. When she left us she was encouraged and rejuvenated in her walk with the Lord. Please keep praying that the Lord will help her to be faithful in reading His Word and in making choices according to her life as a child of God. This is so difficult for her as she has NO encouragement from home or school to do what is right and recently her parents haven't let her come to club as faithfully. Pray that she will choose to come when she does have an opportunity! Here are a few pics from our time together on Saturday. We went to Skytop again, but the apples had all been picked because of the hot weather. We each found one apple under a tree that was edible, but we didn't buy anything. After we left there we went to Jackson Park in Hendersonville, NC and David grilled some amazing hamburgers! After the hamburgers, we used the grill coals to roast marshmallows. This was Christy's first time to ever roast marshmallows!!

Ground Breaking Ceremony
We had our ground breaking ceremony this past Sunday, October 10. Here are a few pics and a small video clip!

Recent & Not So Recent Outings :)
Here are some pictures from things we've done over the past couple months.
The weekend before school started we took Daniel to Charleston to see the Yorktown.
At the end of the summer we started grilling out at a nearby park every few weeks. That was a LOT of fun! Hoping to do some more of that with the cooler weather coming on :-) That cat incident was really funny as well. We were driving around a small neighborhood and when we drove around the cul de sac the kittens all marched across the road and sat down. There were 9 of them total, I think. :)
We also really enjoyed hearing the 5 Browns play in the FMA. We had seats in the balcony since David had to chap for the performance. We didn't complain since that gave him a free ticket for me to go along! :)
This past weekend we went to A Day in the Country & Skytop Apple Orchard. We wore long sleeves hoping for some crips, cool, fall mountain air. It didn't work :( It ended up being in the 80s all day! Thankfully the orchard provided lots of shade for us! :) The orchard was PACKED out since it was the last day of the season for most of the apple varieties. One lady tried getting out of there there wrong way! Her car got stock hanging off a small drop-off. David & a few other men picked the car up and pushed her back onto solid ground :)
Guess that's about all the exciting things for now! We're helping Amy move tomorrow (we spent the afternoon/evening there yesterday as well) so maybe we'll have pics from that soon.

Quit loafing around!
I finally got a job a few weeks ago babysitting two adorable little children. Jackson is 3 1/2 and MacKenzie is 9 months. I am very thankful for the Lord's provision, though I miss not being home all day every day. Since I only work 20 hours a week I still do have plenty of time to do some baking, but for the most part I have stopped "loafing" around :) Today I'm cleaning dad & mom's house so they can walk in without getting tangled up in cobwebs! Ok, its not that bad actually :) Then on to Ben & Beka's since they have some people coming to look at their place this evening.
David is staying super busy with school-- taking 10 grad credits (including Greek & Hebrew) and working about 30+ hours a week. This past Saturday he went to babysit with me so that we could at least be together. That was fun! Hoping to take a trip to the mountains before the leaves all fall off!

Last ones! :)
I suppose cleaning the house before I took pictures would have been a good idea . . . .oh well! :(
The coloring is pretty bad in some of these pics. Hope this gives you at least some idea of what our place looks like! Again, if you start at the bottom of the pictures and work your way up you'll have a photographic walk through the house! :) Did you notice the beautiful clock made by Uncle Bill?
