Lake Conastee

Well, this is a little late but better late than never . . .

Last Saturday (Feb. 19th) David took the day off from studying (he worked ahead during the week :) so that we could spend the afternoon at Lake Conastee Nature Park. The weather was GORGEOUS and it was so very enjoyable to be able to spend a few hours of uninterrupted time together. We took a picnic lunch then walked about 3 miles on the trail there at the lake. The water was low and we didn't get around to the largest part of the lake so it wasn't very picture worthy, but we had a LOVELY time!!!!! Here are just a few pics we took along the way. I like the pics of our shadow :) Simply romantic, aren't they?? ;-)

This week is a busy one for David as far as studies are concerned. Just 3 weeks until Bible Conference, if you can believe it! And we all know how the time flies by after that.

The weather has been just lovely for so many days now. I've been taking the kids to the park nearly every time I'm with them. Today we didn't go because there was a tornado warning (maybe its still in effect??). We didn't get any rain until I was on my way home from work -- about 5:30 PM. It was a bit scary driving home on the interstate when the rain hit hard. The sky was almost midnight black for about 10 min. and the traffic was nearly stopped. So glad I don't have to drive in that every day! :) Now we're just praying that we don't get lots of water in the apartment. I'd hate for David to have to be up all night vacuuming that mess up!

Can't think of anything else going on. We did go to U. Mark & A. Linda's for dinner last night after church. It was sort of in honor of Lydia's birthday, and also b/c we were supposed to go over a couple weeks ago, but Esther was sick.

Well, I'll close for now. Hope everyone is doing well. We love you all!!
Na for both of us

A random assortment :)

Well, I haven't worried about posting since Dad & Mum haven't had computer access. They do have a generator now, but am not sure how much that'll do for them as far as the computer is concerned. Hopefully they will have power by the end of the month!

We're just plugging along here. Last week we had Andrew & Daniel over for dinner (Meagan had a meeting) and had a small birthday celebration for Andrew. I really, really enjoyed having 2 Wednesdays off work! LOVE being able to have the siblings over before church!

This week is a busy one. I worked and did errands all day Monday. Tuesday I babysat 4 girls from church in the afternoon (aprox. ages 2,4,6,8?). That was quite an adventure! :) We made macaroni necklaces (which they promptly ate ;-), played outside, colored, etc. One of the girls had a run-on encounter with the teeter-totter and got a huge bruise on her face. :( They are very energetic girls and we had a lot of fun. Cara came in the afternoon and helped with the girls then we got all dressed up for Artist Series (Philharmonic of Poland) at BJU. We both got beautiful flowers from David!! :) Cara spent the night and went to work with me on Wednesday, which was a HUGE help! I've decided she can't go home :). Its kinda nice to get paid for someone else to do all the work ;-) No, she really is a help though because she is so good with kids and has more energy than I do (do I sound old, or what?!:).

Atchurch last night David gave a 15 min. powerpoint presentation about the cyclone devastation in Australia. Since we hadn't heard from Dad & Mum since the update he gave last Wednesday we did our best to round up as much info as possible from other missionaries & Australian church people who are my friends on facebook. Amazing how quickly you can get info around! :)
Also had an answer to prayer last night. Christy got a job and consequently hasn't come to club in 3 weeks. She keeps saying she wants to come to church but isn't home when we go to pick her up. Last night she said she was going to come then texted back to say that she was going to drive over with a friend. I saved her a seat but she didn't show up. During prayer time I heard "where's Naomi!?!" When I finished praying I saw Christy and her friend talking to some of the teen girls. They had gotten there late and sat in the fireplace room. She is in a "down" moment, but I'm thankful that she was there! The Lord is still working! I'm so glad she's in His hands and not mine, because I can't keep a hold on her :) Pray that she will continue to deepend her relationship with the Lord and develop the discernment necessary to live for Christ.

Today I had ladies Bible study, lunch with a good friend, and cleaned at mom and dad's before picking David up from work. Since its been such a crazy week he decided to take me out for dinner before we came to the library to study. Such a thoughtful husband!! :)

We're working on another puzzle so I'll have to post pics of that when we finish.
Well, I guess that's about it for now. David's busily working on Hebrew as I send this. I'm going to try to get some reading done.
