We're just plugging along here. Last week we had Andrew & Daniel over for dinner (Meagan had a meeting) and had a small birthday celebration for Andrew. I really, really enjoyed having 2 Wednesdays off work! LOVE being able to have the siblings over before church!
This week is a busy one. I worked and did errands all day Monday. Tuesday I babysat 4 girls from church in the afternoon (aprox. ages 2,4,6,8?). That was quite an adventure! :) We made macaroni necklaces (which they promptly ate ;-), played outside, colored, etc. One of the girls had a run-on encounter with the teeter-totter and got a huge bruise on her face. :( They are very energetic girls and we had a lot of fun. Cara came in the afternoon and helped with the girls then we got all dressed up for Artist Series (Philharmonic of Poland) at BJU. We both got beautiful flowers from David!! :) Cara spent the night and went to work with me on Wednesday, which was a HUGE help! I've decided she can't go home :). Its kinda nice to get paid for someone else to do all the work ;-) No, she really is a help though because she is so good with kids and has more energy than I do (do I sound old, or what?!:).
Atchurch last night David gave a 15 min. powerpoint presentation about the cyclone devastation in Australia. Since we hadn't heard from Dad & Mum since the update he gave last Wednesday we did our best to round up as much info as possible from other missionaries & Australian church people who are my friends on facebook. Amazing how quickly you can get info around! :)
Also had an answer to prayer last night. Christy got a job and consequently hasn't come to club in 3 weeks. She keeps saying she wants to come to church but isn't home when we go to pick her up. Last night she said she was going to come then texted back to say that she was going to drive over with a friend. I saved her a seat but she didn't show up. During prayer time I heard "where's Naomi!?!" When I finished praying I saw Christy and her friend talking to some of the teen girls. They had gotten there late and sat in the fireplace room. She is in a "down" moment, but I'm thankful that she was there! The Lord is still working! I'm so glad she's in His hands and not mine, because I can't keep a hold on her :) Pray that she will continue to deepend her relationship with the Lord and develop the discernment necessary to live for Christ.
Today I had ladies Bible study, lunch with a good friend, and cleaned at mom and dad's before picking David up from work. Since its been such a crazy week he decided to take me out for dinner before we came to the library to study. Such a thoughtful husband!! :)
We're working on another puzzle so I'll have to post pics of that when we finish.
Well, I guess that's about it for now. David's busily working on Hebrew as I send this. I'm going to try to get some reading done.
Oh, my! Is Cara as tall as you?! Wow! What fun to have kidnapped her for a while. How long is she here for? You're both beautiful in your gowns and flowers!
ReplyDeleteGreat! My girls could not believe how grown up Cara looks and that she is taller than you. Stephen says that you look like me. (I think you're much prettier!)
ReplyDeleteLoved the pictures! So nice to get back online and find them! Thanks! Nice to see Cara again!
ReplyDeleteWe felt so bad to miss Andrew's birthday! Glad somebody was able to help him celebrate. We'll have to do something special with him in May. And everyone else too!!! :) Sarah starts back to school tomorrow. She's not really excited about it-it's very warm and humid here with no conveniences, and it tends to zap your energy. Told her to just keep working so we can come and see you all soon! :)
Love, Mum
