No pictures & not much news, but its a post :)

Well, I have no pictures to post, but decided to write a little update anyway :) Somewhere I have artist series pictures so I'll have to see if I can get them up soon. We really, really enjoyed the opera!! They did an AMAZING job! And no, we never did pick Daniel out! :)

We've been busy with school, work, church, etc. . . just the norm. This week has been a little more busy because of Bible Conference, but that's always a good kind of busy :-)

I'll tell a bit about our week.

*Sunday morning we had an EMF (Early Morning Fellowship) with our SS class, then morning service of course. (BTW, the morning service was a tremendous blessing & if you're not able to listen to any other messages in this series I would highly recommend this one at least!) I wasn't feeling well on Sunday & Monday, but managed to make it to the evening services both days anyhow.

*Monday I pretty much laid low in hopes that I wouldn't get the flu in its full fury :)

*It seemed to work and Tuesday I felt great and got lots done around the house and managed to make it over to campus for a picnic lunch with David (& Cara-- she was here from 8-3). I also baked dozens of mini cinnamon rolls for Tabitha's (Sam's fiancee) bridal shower on Saturday. I had to bake them early since I'm not at home the rest of the week:) I froze them and we'll see how they do on Sat. morning.

*Wednesay I worked all day and the excitement for the day was MacKenzie taking 30 steps on her own!!! Once she did that she was done for the day, but its huge progress in the right direction!! She just got some shoes that squeak when you walk on the heel to help her learn to walk flat-footed. You know how little kids always walk on their tip-toes to begin with?? It was super cute to watch her get excited when she figured out how to make that noise:) Wednesday night we had nursery at church and b/c of Bible Conference we only had 6 kids!! That was a blessing since our usual helpers had to be at BC so it was just the two of us.

*This morning I had to clean the house that I usually on Mondays (since I was sick Monday). The fun part is that it takes me 4-5 hours to clean and I only had 3.5 hours to do it before I picked David up for the annual picnic/soccer outing with the Minnick clan. I worked fast and hard and got done by 12. We ended up getting to the park just after everyone else, so that was happy. We had a good crew there. U. Mark, A. Linda, Esther, Lydia & Nick, Shepherd (he's SO cute & cuddly! :), A. Ellen, Charles, William, Elizabeth, A. Emily, Tate & Joanna, Caroline & Jeremy, Anne & Tim, Maria, Hannah, Andrew, Daniel,David & myself. I think that's everyone. We had a lovely lunch as usual and then played soccer & volley ball. Well, I didn't play much soccer-- I sat & talked to Esther most of the time :) I did play when they did couples vs. couples for a bit.

I'm taking a little break from working on my lesson for teen club tomorrow night. David is at the service, but I stayed back to work on this since I've had little time this week. We're supposed to teach the last 5 chapters of Genesis . . ..right. 5 chapters in one 25 min lesson:??? ;-) We'll see how that goes.

Tomorrow will be a pretty normal - I'll work 8-5:30, teen club from 6-9, then we'll hit the hay and start all over again :)
Saturday I have Caroline & Anne's showers at 9:30, Tabitha'10-11:30/12, the annual Australia reunion picnic from 12-2, and who knows what after that!! :) I'm hoping sleep . . . . ;-) Somewhere in the day we need to clean for the Hall's (David may do that while I'm at the showers)

So, that's about it for our normal lives :) Hope everyone is doing well!
We love you all lots!
Na

  2. Thanks so much for letting us know about everything. That's always wonderful!!:) Can you believe it's only 5 weeks until we come over? Dad is super busy getting everything done he normally does plus working ahead to come plus more cyclone clean-up. Hope to get Sarah's carpet approved this coming week so it can be ordered and hopefully installed before we go. SHe has her gear strung out between Daniel's room and the guest room. WIll be nice to get both those rooms more functional soon before all the influx of guests we'll have after we get back. The builder that had contacted us about he cracked fibro, door and window and the mangled clothesline never has come back with a quote. Dad thinks he may have left town. Oh well, guess that will have to be done once we get back.We hope to get some trees to replace all the ones we had to cut down too. Sooner or later it will all get done.:)

We are having YG for the 3rd time this year tonight! All the wind and flooding have knocked it out for a couple of months now. Last Wednesday was the first prayer meeting service we've had where all were able to be there in about 2 months. The Fellowship is this Sunday night. The last time we had a Fellowship was in the beginning of December-they have had to be postponed too.

It has been dry for about a week but they say we have heavy rains coming again this coming week. The water table is so high that as soon as it begins to rain, the stench of mud fills the air immediately. Fortunately no flooding rains this week (hopefully, although the rivers rise so fast now you never know!) but only about 30 mls a day. Just enough to make it very wet and muddy again.

We rejoice to hear of your opportunities with the Friday night club and with your employment, Naomi. Will continue to pray for both.

Well, Sam is here for tea before YG so I'll close and get tea for her and make the cordial.

    Lots of love,
    Mum
